“Vehicle Registration Issue” email a scam, assessor says | Local News

The Columbia County Assessor’s Office is warning the public about a new scam designed to collect personal financial information.

Assessor Shannon Hair warns the public that if they receive an email titled “Vehicle Registration Issue” from an email address of “no-reply@AR.org ,” a scam is in progress.

The email will claim, “There was an error processing your county property assessment, which affects your ability to renew your vehicle registration.”

“This is a scam! This is not from the Assessor’s Office. This scam is happening across Arkansas. Please call our office if you have any concern,” said a statement from Hair’s office.

People with questions may call the Assessor’s Office at 870-234-4380.
