Trump Truth Social Post Does NOT Show ‘8 AI-Generated Women’ Facing Execution in Iran

Are the eight women in a Truth Social post by President Donald Trump, purportedly facing execution in Iran, actually AI-generated? No, that’s not true: The women are real and are facing a variety of charges, Iran Human Rights in Oslo, Norway, told Lead Stories. The organization said, “Only one of the women has a death sentence,” though others faced death-related charges.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) by the @Jvnior account on X on April 22, 2026. It read:

Trump is begging Iranian leaders to not execute 8 AI-generated women. This is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.

Trump posted about the women on April 21, 2026 (archived here). Trump’s post read:

To the Iranian leaders, who will soon be in negotiations with my representatives: I would greatly appreciate the release of these women. I am sure that they will respect the fact that you did so. Please do them no harm! Would be a great start to our negotiations!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

BREAKING: The Islamic Republic is preparing to hang eight women.

Not a word from the international community or so-called human rights organizations.

Iran Human Rights

In an April 22, 2026, email to Lead Stories, Iran Human Rights confirmed that the women were real and what charges they were facing. The organization said:

As far as we know, only one of the women has a death sentence. The information we have is as follows:

  • Bita Hemati: Sentenced to death

  • Ghazal Ghalandar (Yasuj): no new reports on case since arrest in January

  • Golnaz (Golnar) Naraghi: (Tehran) Released on bail

  • Venus Hosseinnejad: (Kerman) Released on bail

  • Panah Movahedi (Punak, Tehran): disappeared during 9 Jan protest

  • Ensieh Nejati (Darab): no new reports on case since arrest on 10 January

  • Mahboubeh Shabani (Mashhad): facing death penalty charges

  • Diana Taher Abadi (Karaj): arrested and threatened with death sentence

At about the same time on April 22, 2026, Trump posted an update to his Truth Social account (archived here), saying all the women would be spared. It read:

Very good news! I have just been informed that the eight women protestors who were going to be executed tonight in Iran will no longer be killed. Four will be released immediately, and four will be sentenced to one month in prison. I very much appreciate that Iran, and its leaders, respected my request, as President of the United States, and terminated the planned execution. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
