The dogs, which did not belong to Lila, were destroyed at the scene. They were not believed to be a banned breed.
A force spokesperson said: “Our thoughts remain with Lila’s family and friends.
“We understand how deeply distressing this incident is for the local community and we continue to have officers in the area to offer reassurance.
“The dogs have been assessed by our officers and further assessed independently by another police force and are not believed to be a banned breed.”
A 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury resulting in death.
He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
