How to Make Money Fast in Starsand Island
There are five main ways that we recommend making money as a Starsand Island beginner:
- Fishing
- Farming
- Completing NPC requests on the Bulletin Board
- Filling out your Stamp Collection
- Crafting
Each has its own way of generating money quite fast, with some quicker and better than others, which we’ll explain below.
How to Make Money From Fishing in Starsand Island
If you’re anything like us and will sink hours and hours into fishing, then this will likely be one of the best money-making options for you in Starsand Island. While you don’t earn money from fishing itself (unless you’re lucky and reel in a treasure chest), you do when you sell your fish!
You begin with a Wooden Rod, which is more than enough to start earning Coins in the early-game. Before you go wild with your rod, though, we highly recommend speaking to Delphin, the Fishing Mentor, who can often be found inside the AquaBlue Outpost in Half-Moon Bay.

Accept his proposal to become an Apprentice Angler, and you’ll start working toward the Fishing Profession, which, if you’re planning on fishing a lot, is worth doing as you’ll naturally complete StarNote tasks and increase your overall level.
How to Fish in Starsand Island
To catch fish in Starsand Island, you’ll need to find a fishing spot in either the river or ocean. These are indicated by ripples in the water; look closely and you’ll see fish shadows swimming around.
Stand close to the water with your Fishing Rod selected and hold the Cast button (PC: Left-Mouse Button / Xbox: RT). Aim your bobber where you want it to land and let go.
Once a fish hooks, it will do a big splash and pull the bobber underwater. Immediately hold the Cast button once more to begin reeling it in. Watch the line color, though – if it turns red, it will snap! Once it nears red, let go of the button and hold it again to continue pulling the fish in.
When the fish reaches you, you’ll successfully catch it! Note that depending on your Fishing Rod (like the Wooden Rod, for example), some fish cannot be caught. In this case, you’ll need to craft a higher-tier one.

How to Make Money From Farming in Starsand Island
To start making money from farming in Starsand Island, you first need to unlock the Farming Profession. This is done by talking to Graminova, who is often found by the Happiness Seed Shop in Starsand Town.

When you first start the Farming Profession, you’ll only be able to grow Wheat, Pasture Grass, and Beetroot. We highly recommend progressing until you become at least an Apprentice Farmer, which is the next level up, to gain access to more seed types.
If you can progress to Junior Farmer, this is even better, as even more seeds become available for purchase, which can then be grown and sold for higher profits. That said, even an Apprentice Farmer can make good money, though!
Seeds are purchased at the Happiness Seed Shop, from either the cash register or from Graminova himself.
Best Early-Game Crops to Sell in Starsand Island
These are the best crops to sell in the Starsand Island early-game as an Apprentice and Junior Farmer, including sell prices and Farming Profession level. You begin the game in the Summer, so this list only includes crops that can be grown in the Summer:
How to Make Money From Bulletin Board Requests
In Starsand Town, there’s a Bulletin Board outside of the Community Center. If you interact with this board, you’ll see a list of NPC requests that you can complete for rewards, including money.

There are three kinds of NPC requests you can accept in Starsand Island:
- Simple Requests (1-Star)
- Normal Requests (2-Star)
- Difficult Requests (3-Star)
The higher the difficulty of the request, the better the reward. 3-Star requests will likely be almost uncompletable at the start of the game as requests are timed, meaning you only have a certain amount of time to complete them. We’d recommend focusing only on 1-Star and 2-Star requests at the beginning.
All requests require you to deliver a specific item to an NPC, such as craftable items and crops. Do so in time and you’ll not only be given Coins, but Starsand and relationship points with that NPC.
You can only take on four requests at a time, and requests on the Bulletin Board reset daily at 06:00. Doing requests is a great way of earning money fast, as some of them pay out quite handsomely. For example, we had one that rewarded us with 1,090 Coins for delivering five Peppers – not too shabby!
Additionally, you earn extra Coins and other rewards the more requests you complete. If you click on “Total Completion” in the bottom left of the Bulletin Board menu (press X on Xbox), you’ll open the Request Completion Status menu. Here, you can claim prizes based on how many Simple, Normal, and Difficult requests you’ve done, with money being a main reward.
Completing Bulletin Board requests is one of the best ways to make money in Starsand Island, especially if you accept requests that you already have the items for. For example, if you’re working on raising your Farming Profession, you’ll likely find a few requests for crops you already either have on hand or growing in your field.
How to Make Money From Your Stamp Collection
As you collect items, catch bugs and fish, and harvest crops in Starsand Island, they will register in your Islandpedia, which is essentially a catalog of everything in the game. It is split into six sections:
- Gatherables: Includes items you can pick up and animal byproducts.
- Plants: Includes crops you harvest, flowers you pick up, mushrooms, and more.
- Crafting: Includes items you craft, such as tools, equipment, and animal housing.
- Bio Research: Includes bugs, fish, and livestock.
- Cuisine: Includes meals you cook, such as main dishes, desserts, and baked goods.
- Home: Includes home furniture that you purchase and craft.
As you make progress toward filling out a section, you’ll earn a stamp in your Islandpedia’s Stamp Collection. There are 1,865 stamps to collect, with a reward earned for five milestones per section. Note that not all rewards include Coins, though we’ll list them below anyway:
All Gatherables Stamps and Rewards
All Plants Stamps and Rewards
All Crafting Stamps and Rewards
All Bio Research Stamps and Rewards
All Cuisine Stamps and Rewards
All Home Stamps and Rewards
Filling out your Stamp Collection isn’t something you’ll want to use as a sole money-maker, rather to supplement your other activities. You’ll find that as you play, you complete many stamps naturally, earning rewards for tasks you’re already doing anyway.
How to Make Money From Crafting in Starsand Island
Crafting is recommended by the game itself as the first Profession you should pick, and for good reason – it’s an okay way of making decent money, especially if you love to explore the island like we do. If you didn’t choose it when prompted to start your first Profession, visit Zerine, who is often found either in the General Store or in the basement below it.

Follow the first Crafting Progression quest and you’ll end up with a Furnace, Charcoal Kiln, and a Cutter – all of which are used in crafting. To maximize your early-game profits, you’ll want to also grab the Exploration Profession, which is unlocked by talking to Zephyria.
You’re prompted to unlock it as part of the Crafting Profession automatically, though if you want to earlier, you’ll often find him by the Exploration Club, located between Green Meadow and Flower Corridor.

Progress the Exploration Club quest until you craft the Slingshot and unlock the Moonlit Forest. Here, you’re able to mine for ore, which is a crucial part of crafting – and making money from it.
Best Early-Game Items to Craft and Sell in Starsand Island
These are the best items that we’ve found to sell in the Starsand Island early-game using the Furnace, Cutter, and Charcoal Kiln, including sell prices and crafting materials needed. Note that crafting isn’t our preferred way to make money quickly, but it is worth it if you’re going to be crafting a lot anyway; the cash adds up. You can also sell items crafted at a Worktable:
As you progress the Crafting Profession, you will unlock more crafting recipes, leading to more money. As such, again, we don’t recommend making this your primary source of income, but it is good if you’re already crafting a ton of stuff and need to offload the excess.
