COLUMBUS, Ind. — Several homeless individuals and pets are now safe after first responders rescued them from intense flooding in central Indiana Wednesday.
In Columbus, the Bartholomew County Water Rescue team and Columbus Fire Department used boats to rescue multiple people from “harms way.”
The intense flooding happened around Clifty Creek, near 850 North US 31.
While firefighters used the boat to rescue the individuals, part of the crew used a drone with thermal imagery to ensure all people and pets were rescued.
