Pinterest Brings Amazon’s Claudine Cheever On Board As Global Marketing Chief

Pinterest has named Claudine Cheever as its new global chief marketing officer, filling the role following Andréa Mallard’s move to Microsoft AI.

Cheever joins Pinterest after a long stint at Amazon, where she most recently served as vice president, global brand and marketing. She spent nearly five years in this role and completed a nine-year tenure at the e-commerce company.

Before joining Amazon, Cheever built her career on the agency side, having worked with leading advertising firms such as Saatchi & Saatchi and McCann.

She takes over from Andréa Mallard, who led Pinterest’s marketing efforts for almost seven years before transitioning to Microsoft AI as its chief marketing officer.

Founded in 2010, Pinterest started as a digital pinboard platform, enabling users to discover, save and organise images and videos across categories including fashion, home décor and travel. In its early years, the company primarily relied on advertising revenue as its core business model.
