Tulia police now arresting owners of stray pets after 3rd violation

The City of Tulia Police Department will now arrest owners of stray pets after a third violation.

According to the police department, the number of stray animals and loose dogs has not declined despite efforts by animal control and police.

“This ongoing issue poses a significant health and safety risk to the community,” said police.

The first three times a pet escapes, owners will receive a ticket.

The fourth time, an arrest warrant will be issued for the pet’s owner.

“While the department recognizes that pets may occasionally escape their enclosures or restraints, repeated incidents are unacceptable,” said police.
