The Forge is a Roblox experience that revolves around mining ore, fighting enemies, and then grinding up those resources into armor and weapons. Regardless of whether you’re forging them to sell for money or to upgrade your own gear for battle. Understanding how to get the best Crafting Quality on your gear is important to get the most out of it. Learn all about how it works in our complete forging guide!
How to Forge in The Forge
When you first start playing The Forge, the intro quests will guide you toward creating your first weapon and armor. However, if you’re not sure how it works or perhaps skipped through that portion quickly, we’ll cover it completely. In the first region, Stonewake’s Cross, you’ll find a large furnace/forge near Sensei Moro.
This is next to where you appear when you first start the game. Interacting with it will reveal a screen where you can add ores, select to craft armor or weapons, and see what item you have the highest chance of crafting. Before you can start making anything, you’ll need at least three ore. If you don’t have any yet, you’ll need to head into the mine and start whacking away at rocks to get some first. Continue reading below for the next step.
Add Ore to the Pot
Once you have at least three ore, pick near the bottom right corner “Armor” or “Weapon” to decide the type you’re creating. Then, tap ore from the right window to add it to the pot. You can add four different types of ore as long as you add at least three ore. Adding more than that will change the odds of creating other items. Also, this will make certain forging minigames take longer.
Before starting the forging process, you can see on the left side of this screen the “Forge Chances” window. This will show which weapons or armor types have the highest chance of appearing. Due to how this works, you can influence how likely it is that you get something, but it’s rarely a guarantee. You may have a 67% chance to make Light Leggings with a 32% chance to make a Light Helmet. Despite it being more likely that you get those leggings, you could still get a Helmet instead.
At this point, as long as you have an equipment slot free, you can tap the big “FORGE!” button at the bottom of your screen. This will start a chain of minigames that impact the Crafting Quality of your weapon or armor. If you’d prefer to know what to expect first, you can read the rest of our forging guide before continuing.
If you need more equipment slots in The Forge, you can open your Equipments Bag and scroll to the right. This will reveal a spot to spend money to unlock more slots. If you’re on PC, the T button will open this window. You may have to tap the red Equipments tab to get there as well.
Raise the Bellow Up and Down
The first step of the forging process is blowing air to melt the ore in the pot. This revolves around tapping and holding the green circle on the left side of your screen. It has an arrow pointing up and down on it. Once you’re holding this green button, move up and down to pump air into the furnace.
Each time you do this, it will fill the vertical bar on the right side of your screen. If you stop, the bar will deplete very slowly. Otherwise, once it’s full, you’ll move onto the next step. This minigame will take longer if you add a lot of ore and may impact your Crafting Quality if you take too long.
Keep the White Line Inside the Yellow Bar
The second step is to keep a white line inside a yellow bar that moves up and down on the right side of your screen. You’ll need to tap or tap and hold to make the white line rise up on the bar. This becomes a game of trying to keep it inside the yellow bar, but it’s impossible to predict its movement.
While the white line is inside the yellow bar, a bar along the bottom of your screen will start to fill up. Once it’s full, you’ll move on to the next step. Unlike the previous part, you won’t lose progress if you’re outside of the yellow bar.
Hammer the Block
The third step is the easiest one since all you have to do is tap on a metal block to break it. This will mostly reveal the weapon or armor that you’re forging. It may be missing a part or two that will be added in the next step.
Hammer the Item to Finish It
The fourth step in the forging process is one of the hardest since it relies on timing. One circle will appear on your screen with an outer circle closing in on it. You’ll need to try and tap inside the circle when they’re both overlapping perfectly. Depending on how well you match them up will impact the quick rating it gives you.
If you match them up perfectly, you’ll get a Perfect rating. However, if you miss it completely or tap too early, you can get a Bad rating. Each tap will fill the bar along the bottom of your screen and definitely impact your Crafting Quality. Similar to the bellowing step, if you’re forging with a lot of ore, this part will take longer.
Aside from getting the right timing down, the inner circle will also turn green when you should tap. But if you take too long, it’ll become red, warning you that you should have tapped sooner. Part of what makes this step difficult is that the speed of each closing circle changes. Also, if you experience any lag in The Forge, multiple circles can appear at once. And that’s almost impossible to deal with.
Once this step is over, a short cutscene will show your forged item being cooled off in water. Then, you’ll see a window that shows the stats for your new weapon or armor. The stats and value of your item are based on the Craft Quality and materials used. Pressing the green “Accept” button will place it inside your inventory.
The first time you craft a new piece of gear, you’ll be able to claim rewards from doing so. Opening your inventory with T on PC will reveal a blue “Index” tab. Tap on this tab and then tap on the red Forge tab, near the top right corner. Tapping on newly crafted items will let you claim a reward.
