Krafton will introduce two new AI games that actively introduced artificial intelligence (AI) into game play one after another. On the 2nd, Krafton unveiled a trailer for two new games, “Mimesis” and “Scavenger Tom,” which are scheduled to be released this year by its affiliated creative studio Lelu Games.
AI technology developed by Krafton Deep Learning Headquarters and Relu Games will be applied to the two new models. In particular, the know-how of Krafton Deep Learning Headquarters, which introduces AI into games, will be utilized. Mimesis, a horror cooperative genre, and Scavenger Tom, a survival crafting genre, are new forms of game play that incorporate AI technology into their respective worldviews and play experiences.
Mimesis is set in a world where unidentified rain has transformed some humans into “Mimesis,” a monster that replicates other people’s voices, actions, and memories. Users must form a cooperative team of up to four people to collect resources and work together to prevent the tram from stopping and escape from dangerous areas. The in-game monster Mimesis implements very natural AI behaviors and speech based on reinforcement learning and small language models (SLMs). Users experience a high degree of psychological warfare that constantly suspects AI enemies disguised as team members.
Scavenger Tom is a survival crafting game played in a world where humans fled to underground bunkers to escape radiation after a nuclear explosion. Users explore the polluted ground world by remotely controlling the home robot “T.O.M” to survive in a bunker that is on the verge of depletion of resources. The resources collected by Tom are used to create items to continue survival in bunkers.
The ground exploration environment in the game will be produced with the latest image generation AI technology to provide users with a sense of immersion through new exploration experiences.
Earlier, Krafton proved its technology by introducing the AI character “Smart Joy” created by Nvidia and its deep learning headquarters in partnership with the life simulation game “Injoi,” which was recently released as early access (pre-trying).
Relu Games has set “the convergence of deep learning and games” as its core vision and presents more than two new works every year that reflect this. Last year, it released “Magic Girl Kawai Lovely Zkung Booking Loooping” and “Uncover the Smoking Gun.”
The two new models will be released in the form of early access through global game distribution platform Steam in the third quarter of this year.
