Broadcaster Park Soo-hong (54) confessed that he wanted to make money for his struggling mother, revealing his difficult childhood family history.
On the 21st, Park Soo-hong released some of the lecture videos through his YouTube channel.
In the video, he said, “I’ve lived with poverty since my father’s business collapsed as a child,” adding, “The ceiling sat hesitantly in a room less than five pyeong, and one day a mouse fell over my head. Those who have drunk briquette gas will know, but Dongchimi is the medicine,” he recalled.
Park Soo-hong then confessed that he wanted to give his mother a good health.
He said, “After school, I sat in my mother’s shop (a hair salon), and at around 8 p.m., I lowered the shutter and pushed my mother from behind as I went up to the Daldongne of my house. When my mother was in her early and mid-40s, the smell of perm medicine was so strong that she gasped. Pushing my mother from behind, I, an elementary school student, said, ‘Please let me succeed so that my mother stops struggling. I prayed, “It’s my wish to make my mom happy.”
Since then, Park Soo-hong has told anecdotes that he struggled to pass the comedian exam, such as getting a job at a hair salon with the determination to make money for his mother, and getting scammed after seeing a model recruitment announcement.
He said, “Only bad things have happened. Even though I took the test, I failed, got cheated, and worked hard, but I couldn’t. I wanted to succeed, not for me, but for my beloved mother,” he said, with tears in his eyes.
He also mentioned his relationship with Yoo Jae-seok, a comedian.
Park Soo-hong said, “Jae-seok has never appeared in the report program (at the time of his brother’s lawsuit), but he gave me an interview at the Real Story Exploration Team.” Jae-seok comes out at the end, and I cried without realizing it,” he said.
“Jae-seok said, ‘Su-hong is a really good classmate who has been connected to me for a long time. He thanked me for the first time, saying, “I don’t think my good heart changes.”
“I felt abandoned by the people I trusted,” Park said of the lawsuit with her family. How am I going to get through this. I always climbed the mountain behind my house thinking that it would be more comfortable if I was gone, he said. “One day, there was a stage where I really couldn’t stand it, but my wife was looking for her slippers with a flash,” he said, shedding tears and expressing his gratitude to his wife for holding him when he was in trouble.
Meanwhile, Park Soo-hong’s brother and his wife are on trial for embezzling a total of 6.17 billion won, including Park’s personal funds, in the process of taking charge of Park’s management for 10 years from 2011 to 2021.
