The Ability Dogs 4 Young People Fun Dog Show took place at the charity’s training centre on April 27.
The show included various classes for dogs, such as “handsomest hound” and “waggiest tail,” and received strong support from the community.
The event also featured stalls, games, and refreshments, creating a lively atmosphere.
The £1,200 raised will support the training and care of the charity’s growing number of ability dogs.
The charity currently has more than 120 dogs at various stages of training and qualification, all of which are pledged lifelong care and support.
The event allowed the public to meet the team behind the charity, including volunteers, staff, trainers, and the dogs themselves, and learn about the charity’s impact on the Isle of Wight.
The charity’s next fun dog show will be part of the Gala Weekend celebrations on June 7 and 8.
The weekend will feature stalls from across the island, a display of classic cars, and demonstrations from Ability Dogs and puppies in training.
Ability Dogs 4 Young People, founded in April 2012, trains assistance dogs to enhance the independence of disabled young people and children on the Isle of Wight.
