A dog mom brought her golden Labrador into work, leading to a hilarious standoff with the office’s English bulldog that has left the internet in stitches.
The dog owner, Maureen McLaughlin (@m0ski), shared the amusing interaction between her pooch, Hurley, and Ruby, the workplace’s resident pet. The footage has garnered 79,400 likes and 606,700 views on TikTok.
“Hurley has been coming to the office since he was a puppy but ever since Ruby came along he doesn’t come in that often anymore. As you can see, Ruby does NOT like to have other dogs in the office. This is her territory!” McLaughlin told Newsweek.
“The whole staff are dog lovers so we need to coordinate with Ruby’s schedule. If someone is bringing their dog in, then Ruby has to stay home. On this day, I wanted to test the waters. Hurley wanted to play but Ruby said GET OUT! Ruby ended up having to stay on a leash for the rest of the day,” she added.

“We have a lot of fun in the office and Ruby is typically the center of it,” she added.
In the video, a glass door separates the two canines. Hurley enthusiastically rolls a football towards Ruby, who remains unimpressed on the other side of the door.
An onscreen caption reads: “You bring your dog to work with you and the office dog is p*****,” as a generated voiceover says: “Go home. You’re not welcome,” imagining what Ruby would say as he barks loudly in response.
“Hurley just wants to play,” another voiceover narrates as Hurley wags his tail and tries to nudge the ball closer to Ruby.
Eventually, a colleague intervenes, scooping Ruby up and carrying her away from the scene.
The presence of dogs in the workplace has been shown to boost morale, reduce stress, and create a more relaxed office environment.
According to The Kennel Club, allowing dogs at work can improve employee well-being and productivity, provided that clear guidelines are in place to ensure a harmonious workspace.
Despite their differing personalities, Labradors and English bulldogs can often get along well. Labradors are known for their friendly and playful nature, while bulldogs, despite their sometimes grumpy demeanor, can be affectionate and loyal companions.
According to VetSupply, these two breeds can coexist peacefully, especially when properly introduced.
The video quickly sparked a wave of laughter among viewers.
“HR had to come deescalate,” joked one user.
“Did someone check his credentials?” quipped Stephanie.
“That’s the cutest office conflict!” said another commenter.
“I would gladly return to the office if there was an English bulldog there,” added another viewer.
