Losing weight and going from “Fat” to “Thin”….

This is an intensely *personal* hero’s journey for you.

And *you*…. are the hero in question!

About losing weight – there is one thing you MUST keep in mind.  Let’s now move to:

What Going From Fat To Thin Can Mean To You

Some people think their life will change if they go from fat to thin.

And they’re right.   In today’s society, people DO seem to value thin people more than fat people.

I mean, witness Carrie Fisher (General Organa aka Princess Leia) from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  She was utterly magnificent in that role… and yet what did bunches of social media idjuts focus on?

Not only did she age after 39 years (imagine that!) but she also… gained weight!

So.  When you lose weight and go from fat to thin, yes, you’ll be treated differently by society in general.  Thing is, though…

Ask yourself.  If you’re overweight, is it because of other issues in your life?  ie:

  • Insecurity
  • You’re in a bad relationship so you eat to feel better
  • You’re in poor health

etc.etc.etc.

Losing weight will NOT fix the above!  Always remember – you gain weight not just because, well, you gain weight, but also because of how you react to external influences.

Those must be addressed to *keep* the weight off in the future!

 

See… losing weight *takes time*.   Contrary to what the media would love for you to believe…. in the vast majority of cases…..

You cannot lose 20 pounds in 20 days.

Science just doesn’t work that way.  It probably took you years to pack on the pounds… it will take at least months if not years to lose them!

And that’s okay.  But another thing you need to consider is:

What Going From Fat To Thin Can Mean To Others

In the best cases…. you get lots of support!

In NOT the best cases… you get lots of sabotage!

Some people view you losing weight as a judgement on themselves.  All of a sudden, YOU have the willpower when they do not!

Other people might feel threatened by your positive actions.  They might feel that if you get thinner:

  • They’ll lose you because you’re now viewed as more attractive
  • They’ll lose you because you’ll develop self-confidence and realize you deserve to be treated like the goddess/god you are!
  • They’ll lose you because your hobbies might change from, well, watching TV to gym, exercise, outdoor thingees and the like.

Now, while its true, that is their problem and not yours… you DO need to train yourself to put your body’s needs ahead of the naysayers.  In a nutshell….

Screw others.
